living in the ivory tower for 18 years, it is difficult to acknowledge the truth when you are accustomed to be sheltered and protected. and like the solitaire cards in solitaire's mystery, to listen the truth is a rude awakening. in the story, the cards decided to murder the creator for his existance exposes them to the truth that they are nonexistant. and in the real world, the previously unknown truth opens out many frightening thoughts and ideas. truth is like the opening of the pandora's box which can be neither retracted nor denied. and truth can really hurts.
i really reckon that my 18 yrs of existance is a waste.
but on the flipside of the coin, truth is very powerful. it is like a huge gong that awake unaware humans from their slumber and it realigns them to the correct path. the awful truth might not be awful afterall. cuz the bible says "the Truth sets you free".
of destiny. in solitaire mystery, there's a recurring theme in the book where destiny dictates that generations of people experience the same tragic fate. and this is same in the real world. where the same tragegy is passed down from father to son to grandson to their decendents. but can we change our fate? or our fate is preordained? but like the protagonist in solitaire mystery, the tradegy that haunted them for hundred of years finally stopped at his generation. so despite ppl saying that one's destiny cant be changed, i hope that people can prevent the same tragegy that happened for many generations to be pass down.
