remb my last entry where i raised some questions? i shall attempt to answer them today.
Who am I?
hmm thats a simple question. am i not dan when dan's my name? dan's my name therefore i am dan. but what is my identity? i can say that im [according the order of importance] firstly son of God, secondly a singaporean, thirdly an overseas chinese of hokkien and teochew descend, and lastly an ex merdianer. but no matter what, i see myself as an individual living in the world of a population of 8 billion people.
Why am I here?
thats a tricky question. since i dont suscribe to the evolution theory and im a christian personally, i guess that theres a reason to my existance in this world. well as the bible and the church always say, God has a plan for me in life. maybe im going to be a history maker where my existance or prescense is notable enough to be noted in the annals of history. or maybe my existance is going to impact the lives of people around me, and they might be living without me. or maybe its up to me to find out why am i here as according to existentialist philosophy, humans define the value or meaning of both their existence and the world around them in their own subjectivity, and wander between choice, freedom, and existential angst.
Where am I going?
thats a difficult answer since i dont really have a purpose in life. a purpose is like a target in the shooting range, and without purpose there wuldnt be any target. what is purpose? is it given divinely or shld i search it myself? what would the future brings for me? in the short term, i would see myself serving the nation. and in the middle term, i would see myself pursuing a degree in a university. but what about the long termn? as keynes had quippped 'in the very long run, we will all be dead,' nobody can truly know what the future be like. but no matter what it is, que sera sera. the future is not for us to know.
life itself has no instrisicate meaning and its up to us to define whats the Meaning of Life.
